The True Rebellion Is Choice

Being rebellious in today’s world is a much different thing then what we have known it to be decades past. Before it was just being different and not doing what everyone else is doing. But with the undertone that its unsafe and not usually the right path. Not today. There are so many ways to live differently, since the American Dream is pretty much dead. Now rebellion is having different choices

And choice is not just that you’ll ride motorcycles or dress differently. But that you know that you can choose something different than everyone else.

Not Following The Well Worn Path

This is the one everyone knows. Whether or not you follow the family in being in medicine or everyone living in the same town. Taking time to explore what you want in life. Whether its not going to college and taking an internship in another state. Or see if you will enjoy living in a different place every few years, moving where the work draws you. It can be as small as going into a trade that no one around you has ever tried.

Seeing The Other Options

A true rebel now will be able to see all the possibilities out there. Not just whether to go to college or straight into a job. But maybe taking a year to travel. Or joining a circus to perform (those are still out there). Or even to be a hobby farmer. The best thing, and the freedom, is to see all that we can possibly be and try.

Finding All The Ways Available To Get To The Same Goal

Another great thing about our time is that there is more than one way to get to where we want to be. There are so many options for work and making money. If you want to be a homeowner it’s not just having to make a certain amount, have no debt, and be at a job for over 2 years. Now they allow people who are self-employed and there are so many programs available to help too.

So it doesn’t mean that all of us rebels are leather-wearing, tattooed smoking rule breakers. A lot of successful people out there have rebelled against the norm and are very happy. Living in small and big ways is different than others. No way is better than the other and no one is better for following one path over the other. We all just need to follow our own paths.
