Quarentine Did Not Make You An Introvert

This is going to be a small rant. Through the pandemic, I’ve kept hearing people say that they are such introverts now that they have to stay home more. Not gonna lie, I want to blow a gasket each time hearing that. That is not what an introvert is. It has been, and only will be about how you get and use up energy. It has nothing about being shy, not seeing people, feeling like a hermit, or actually not filling all of your time.

Quarantine did not make you an introvert

Unless you were extremely happy about not having to do all the things you had to do before it. Or really felt happy and refreshed not having to talk to so many people or leave your house so often. That the pressures of life and society were lifted some that you could do more of the things you wanted to (that actually did not need and you didn’t want to include other people). Being forced to be home more and see people less did not change who you are fundamentally.

This may just have given you a chance to be a hermit. To take time to rest and work on yourself. Also, you may have just found that you are an ambivert (mixture of introvert and extrovert) and you are finally able to do your introvert tendencies.
